Bridge to the Cloud 3: Popular Microsoft promotion extended once again

Marco Niecke

Three years of all cloud licenses at a 30% discount – starting in January 2026 for all Dynamics 365 On Premises business solutions

We received some good news from Microsoft at the end of September 2025. The popular Bridge to the cloud 2 promotion, which is very popular for cloud migration β€“ we reported on it in our blog – is being extended and will enter its next phase as BTC3 (Bridge to the Cloud 3).

Companies that are not yet in the cloud with their Dynamics 365 solutions can rejoice, because they will benefit from

  • a 30% discount directly from Microsoft on the standard list price for all cloud licenses
  • for three full years

The promotion starts on January 1, 2026, and runs until December 31, 2027.

During this period, customers can switch to Dynamics 365 Online and benefit from the promotion. They then switch to a fixed 3-year contract and receive the 30% discount mentioned above on all selected Dynamics 365 Online licenses.

After the three years have expired, the normal NCE or CSP list prices will apply again (see Microsoft's current pricing and licensing model). Customers can then choose between monthly, annual, or triennial billing.

The following are eligible to participate:

  • Existing customers who have not yet migrated to the cloud, no new customers
  • And whose on-premises licenses were purchased before September 1, 2024
  • Customers who have already participated in Bridge to the Cloud 1 or Bridge to the Cloud 2 are no longer eligible to participate.

The most important conditions of participation are:

  • The value of the cloud licenses must be at least equal to the annual cost of the Enhancement Plan.
  • Customers must maintain this value throughout the term.
  • Customers with an expired Enhancement Plan can participate, but may be required to make additional payments.

Further important information:

  • Billing within the three-year period is flexible and can be monthly, annually, or triennial. Triennial, for those unfamiliar with the term, means that the contract runs for three years and the total amount is paid in advance in a single installment.
  • Dual Access Rights: Customers who switch to the cloud do not have to shut down their on-premises system immediately. Microsoft automatically extends the EP at no cost. This keeps the old system fully functional and expandable, parallel to the cloud entry.
  • Dual Use Rights: Customers have the right to use the current on-premises version in addition to the cloud license. This allows companies to continue operating their local system during the cloud migration.
  • In addition, there is even a 50% discount on additional on-premises users during the migration (until the end of 2027).

Special bonus for Business Central users:

  • For customers switching from NAV or GP (concurrent user model) to Business Central Online, Microsoft provides additional free users, known as β€œ$0 users.”
  • The number of these $0 users depends on the value of the Enhancement Plan: the higher the annual cost, the more free users are available.
  • The free users must be requested annually and are then available for a maximum of 2 years within the promotional period.

Conclusion:

With its Bridge to the Cloud 3 promotion, Microsoft is going one step further and attempting to create financial incentives for this stepβ€”even for the last companies that still rely on on-premises solutionsβ€”in addition to all the advantages that the cloud already offers its customers (object security, reliability, redundancy, IT security, scalability, flexibility and access to modern AI functions that are only available in the cloud), it is once again creating financial incentives for this stepβ€”even for the last companies that still rely on on-premises solutions.

With all the advantages that the cloud now offers, we ourselves were unsure for a long time whether there would be an equivalent extension of Microsoft's Bridge to the Cloud 2. We are therefore all the more pleased that, with Bridge to the Cloud 3, we have a great offer that we can pass on to our customers until December 2027. Even if the 30% discount in Bridge to the Cloud 3 is not quite as generous as the 40% in Bridge to the Cloud 2.
